In this section I'm going to be updating it quarterly, and leaving old pages in the blog sections incase anyone wants to look back. It will just be a short page about my investment portfolio updates, anything from stocks, crypto, real estate, or ventures.
This is something I want to do mainly so I can go back and look at my thoughts over the years and try to keep myself accountable. However, if someone else gets some benefit from reading my thoughts all the power to you.
At the time of this first post its Q1 of 2023, government rates have slightly come off their highs down to 6.7% in Canada, and my investment portfolio is feeling some pain.
My current portfolio allocation is as follows:
- ETFs: 62.55%
- RRSPs: 16.99%
- Stocks: 12.74%
- Cash: 6.18%
- Crypto: 1.54%
- Real Estate: 0%
My investments are doing poorly this year, I have minimal losses in most areas except I'm getting crushed in my stocks and crypto. My stock portfolio is down about 25% in the last 12 months from its ATHs and my crypto is down nearly 70% from its ATH (thankfully I have yet to go too heavy into crypto).
Overall it's been a tough year in the market and I don't think we're done feeling pain just yet which is why I've been focusing more on holding lower-risk investments and investible cash so when I feel the time is right I'll be able to buy in heavy.
If you're reading this far on future postings I'll likely talk a bit more about specific investments but figured a broad overview of my investments is a good intro into what type of investor I am.
Cheers,
Connor
